  • Rif. 01/2024 – Field Service Engineer – UK

    SIGMA4UK Ltd has operated in Essex for C2C since 2018 and for Avanti West Coast since 2021, developing and maintaining on-service Ticket Vending Machines and increasing the number of staff throughout the country.

    We are an innovative technology company providing products and solutions that meet the needs of self-service sales.

    We are selecting a Field Service Engineer with at least 1 year of experience to join our team at SIGMA4UK Ltd.

    In this Service Engineer role, you will help with the on-field technical assistance service of the Ticket Vending Machines installed in railway stations where “Trenitalia c2c Limited” operates.

    You will be expected to have some former experience maintaining electronic or electromechanical products and equipment, preferably Ticket Vending Machines or ATMs.

    To easily commute from London to Shoeburyness, successful candidates should live in the Basildon, Brentwood or Thurrock districts.

    For this role, the candidate must attend our full training at the Sigma training centre in Monterubbiano (FM), so He will stay in Italy for one month, while the company covers the costs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, maintain, and repair complex equipment and systems at customer sites;
    • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions;
    • Conduct regular preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is operating correctly;
    • Collaborate with the team throughout the country and the main company departments to execute tests and provide logs and documentation.

    Requirements:

    • A university degree in a technical-scientific subject or technical college education or equivalent experience;
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in the maintenance of electronic or electromechanical equipment;
    • Previous experience in the maintenance of Ticket Vending Machines or Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) would be an advantage;
    • The ability to speak Italian would be beneficial;
    • Good computer literacy (familiar with hardware, software and operating systems) and the ability to use a portable PC very well.

    Skills:

    • Superb analytical skills and great attention to detail;
    • Autonomous and able to problem solve;
    • Able to work in the UK territory moving from London to Shoeburyness;
    • Willing to move to Italy for at least one continuous month, at company expense, to attend the specialisation course on Ticket Vending Machines at the Monterubbiano (FM) training centre;
    • A driving license that allows the use of company commercial vehicles on the UK territory.

      Summary

    The Key Account Manager is responsible for interfacing and managing a key customer located in Ontario. In 2021 Sigma has signed an important contract for delivering, installing, maintaining Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and this contract will be executive most likely up to 2032. Today the company is terminating the production and it is entering in the installation phase which will last for several month.

      While the key Account Manager main responsibility will be to manage our key customer, the candidate must have also some good attitudes and skills in Business development, chasing new opportunities in Canada and US.

     

      Activities/Responsibilities
    • Support the Project Team located in Italy and our Canadian local partner in charge for the installation and maintenance, by attending meetings and calls with the client.
    • Coordinate on field the Project and installation team.
    • Ensure efficient communication between all parties involved in the project and produce periodic reports to the Management.
    • Assess performance of the devices installed, by monitoring and reporting discrepancies from contractual KPIs.
    • Assist the client for any additional request which may increase business out of the current Scope of Work.
    • Identify, in strict co-ordination with our international sales director, prospects in the public transportation suitable for Sigma’s Ticketing Solution portfolio.
    • Carry all necessary pre-sales activities by , but not limited, conducting presentations of Sigma and its solutions to prospects.
    • Participation of events, shows in Canada and US.
    • Monitor and report trends and competition scenario in the public transport ticketing industry.

     

    Requirement

    • Based in Ontario.
    • Bachelor’s Degree field of Business, Marketing, Engineering or Technology.
    • Five (5) + years of experience of dealing (Project management and/or Sales) with large accounts, especially in the public sector (B2G). A direct experience in Public Transport industry will be taking in high consideration.
    • Exceptional communication skills are required, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong familiarity with business development, project management, and market research practices, methods and techniques is required.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the business needs, also considering the time difference between North America and Italy.
    • Travel is required: estimated 20-30 %
